FRUIT BARS 
2 c. chopped nuts
1 stick butter
1 1/2 c. light brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 lb. red candied cherries
1/2 lb. green candied cherries
6 slices candied pineapple

Cut candied fruits up together into small pieces. Cream butter and sugar; add flour and flavoring and stir well. Grease and flour 2 (8x8) square pans or spray with Bakers' Joy (my preference).

Sprinkle nuts in bottom of pans. Carefully spread 1/2 of the dough over the nuts in each pan. Sprinkle fruit on top of dough and place in a 300 degree oven for one hour. Cool and slice into bars.
