CORN DOGS 
1 c. self-rising meal
1 c. self-rising flour
2 tbsp. sugar, if desired
1 lb. wieners
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 c. sweet milk
2 tbsp. melted fat

If plain meal & flour are used, add 2 teaspoon baking powder and 1 teaspoon salt to dry ingredients.

Combine first 3 ingredients. Beat egg slightly. Add milk and stir into first mixture. Add melted fat for deep fat frying dip hot dogs in batter, holding with kitchen fork or skewer. Drain excess batter over bowl.

Fry in fat at 375 degrees in a wire basket if available, until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve piping hot.
