HOMEMADE BREAD
5 lbs. plain flour
1 c. Crisco
1 tbsp. sugar
3 1/2 packs yeast
1 tsp. salt
Warm water

NEED: 4 large bread pans and Pam.

Mix flour in bowl with Crisco and salt. Put yeast in small bowl with warm water, about 2 cups, add sugar. Let yeast stand for 5-8 minutes until it bubbles. Add yeast water to flour mixture, adding more warm water to make dough workable. Knead for 30 minutes.

Cover dough with a damp cloth and let rise for 1-2 hours. Knead again for 20 minutes and then divide dough into 4 equal parts. Knead each part for 5-10 minutes. Roll dough out flat; then roll up like a jelly roll. After rolled up, punch ends inside 1 inch and pinch ends together. Place dough in bread pan and re-cover with damp cloth to rise again, 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 1 hour. Bread is done when you can tap the top of each loaf and it sounds hollow. Bread may be frozen in plastic bread bags or aluminum foil. Patience is a virtue!
