PEAR BREAD 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
3 eggs
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 c. yogurt or buttermilk
1 c. coarsely chopped cored pears
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Cream butter, gradually beat in sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Combine dry ingredients, add to mixture alternately with yogurt. Stir in vanilla and pears. Pour into greased 9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
