1 c. Gold Medal all-purpose flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. water
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla, if desired
About 15 drops of favorite food coloring

Cook all ingredients in 2 quart saucepan over medium heat 5 minutes, stirring vigorously until mixture forms a ball in pan. Remove from heat and let stand on counter (on foil) for 5 minutes. Then knead for 1/2 minute or until smooth and blended. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.
