MOLASSES COOKIES 
1 1/4 c. flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. molasses
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. regular or quick oatmeal
1 c. raisins and nuts

Mix shortening and sugar. Add eggs and molasses. Sift flour with dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture, add oatmeal; mix until blended. Drop on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 15 minutes.
