DUTCH APPLE CAKE 
1 1/4 c. sifted flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. milk
3 c. apple wedges, 3/4 inch thick

Mix and sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Cream butter, add sifted dry ingredients and blend.

Combine egg yolk and milk, add to butter mixture and mix. Press mixture into bottom of pan and about 1 inch up sides (greased 11x7 inch pan).

Press apple wedges into dough, over lapping slightly and sprinkle with topping. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven about 50 minutes or until apples are done.

TOPPING:

3/4 c. sugar
1 1/2 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. butter

Mix sugar, flour and cinnamon. Cut in butter until mixture looks like coarse crumbs.
