CHERRY COTTAGE SQUARES 
1/2 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 jar or can cherry pie filling

Whip the butter. Add the sugar and beat. Beat in the eggs, then vanilla. Sift in the flour and beat well.

Put 3/4 of the batter into a 23 x 9 greased and floured pan. Spoon on the cherries. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Add to remaining 1/4 batter and zigzag knife through.

Bake for 30 minutes or until done. Cut in squares when cool.

Try recipe with other flavors of pie filling.
