SPICED MUSHROOM DIP 
2 c. chopped fresh mushrooms (about 8 oz.)
1 c. sour cream
2 tbsp. grated onion
1 tbsp. finely chopped parsley
1/4 tsp. basil
1/8 tsp. salt
Generous dash of hot pepper sauce

In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients; mix well. Cover; refrigerate at least 4 hours to blend flavors. Serve with fresh vegetables or crackers.

Makes 2 cups.

FOR HOT APPETIZERS: Spread 2 tablespoons spiced mushroom dip on each of 16 slices party bread. Arrange appetizers on cookie sheet. Broil 4 inches from heat source 4 to 5 minutes or until lightly browned.

Makes 16 appetizers.
