OZARK PUMPKIN BREAD | |
1 2/3 c. sifted flour 1/4 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 1/8 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/3 c. shortening 1 1/3 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 c. mashed pumpkin 1/3 c. brandy 1/2 c. nuts, chopped Cream together shortening and sugar. Add eggs and brandy; set aside. In bowl combine all dry ingredients. Combine all dry ingredients with all wet ingredients. Add nuts. Pour into greased and floured loaf pan. (Makes 1 large loaf or 4 mini loaves.) Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour in large loaf; 45 minutes for mini loaves. Optional: Pour 3 tablespoons brandy over bread while warm out of oven. |
