MARSHMALLOW PUFFED RICE BALLS 
6 tbsp. butter
3 c. miniature marshmallows
1/2 of 3 oz. pkg. gelatin, raspberry is best (about 3 tbsp.)
1 1/2 qts. puffed rice cereal

In medium saucepan melt butter over low heat Add marshmallows, stir until melted. Blend in dry gelatin. Pour over puffed rice. Mix well with buttered hands. Form into balls.

This was a Christmas tradition when I was growing up. Mom and I didn't use the flavored gelatin. Instead we rolled each ball in peppermint candy ground to a powder in a blender with a little powdered sugar.
