APPLE COFFEE CAKE 
2 c. Bisquick baking mix
3 tbsp. sugar
1 egg
2/3 c. milk or cold water
2 c. thinly sliced pared apples
2 tbsp. nuts

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease 9x9x2 pan.

Prepare Streusel Topping. Mix baking mix, sugar, eggs and milk; beat vigorously 30 seconds. Spread half of batter in pan. Arrange apple slices on batter; sprinkle with half of topping. Spread remaining batter over apple slices; sprinkle with remaining topping. Sprinkle with nuts. Bake until wooden pick comes out clean, about 25 minutes; cool. Drizzle with Glaze.

STREUSEL TOPPING:

Cut 1/4 cup firm butter into 2/3 cup Bisquick, 2/3 cup packed brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg until crumbly.

GLAZE:

Mix 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 2 to 3 teaspoons milk until smooth and of desired consistency.
