BACON-WRAPPED FRANKS 
8 slices bacon
8 frankfurters or fully cooked bratwursts
2 tbsp. Dijon style mustard or prepared mustard
2 tbsp. thinly sliced green onion or finely chopped onion
2 slices American, Swiss, brick or Muenster cheese
Bottled barbecue sauce
8 frankfurter buns, split & toasted

Partially cook bacon. Drain; set aside. Slit frankfurters or bratwursts lengthwise, cutting almost to ends and only 3/4 of the way through. Spread inside of each frank or bratwurst with some mustard; add some of the onion. Cut each slice of cheese into 4 strips. Lay 1 strip of cheese inside each frank or bratwurst. Wrap each frank with a strip of bacon; secure with wooden picks.

Grill over hot coals for 10 to 12 minutes, brushing with barbecue sauce and turning frequently so bacon cooks crisp on all sides. Remove picks. Serve frankfurters or bratwursts in toasted buns. Makes 4 servings.
