ANGEL COOKIES 
These literally melt in your mouth.

3 c. flour
4 c. powdered sugar
2 1/4 tsp. salt
2 1/4 c. shortening (Crisco)
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans

Sift together flour, salt, and sugar. Add rest of ingredients and blend until all is mixed-it takes about 5 minutes. Add a tablespoon water if needed. Roll dough into a roll on floured board, 1 1/2 inch diameter. Wrap in waxed paper. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes. Cut into 3/8 inch slices. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
