BAKE - OFF ENTRY: PINEAPPLE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. flour
Dash salt

2 eggs
1 #2 (10 oz.) can crushed pineapple, not drained

Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle over top of cake a mixture of 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup nuts. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes. Cool in pan for a few minutes.

1/2 c. butter
1 c. evaporated milk
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring to boil in saucepan. With toothpick punch holes in cake while still in pan. Spoon mixture over warm cake.

May substitute pie sliced apples or other fruit for crushed pineapple.
