CHOCOLATE BREAD PUDDING 
1 c. sugar
6 tbsp. cocoa
2 c. milk
1 tsp. shortening
4 slices white bread
2 eggs, unbeaten
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar and cocoa together. Heat milk and add sugar mixture and shortening in a large bowl. Cube bread and add to milk mixture. Let stand until bread is soft. Then using an egg beater, break the bread up until there are no lumps.

Add unbeaten eggs, salt and vanilla; beat again. Put in casserole and set it in a pan of warm water. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
