FRUIT COBBLER | |
1 recipe pie crust 1 can fruit or 1/2 pkg. frozen fruit 1/2 can water 1/2 stick butter 3/4 c. sugar (more for cherries or less for fruit in heavy syrup) Sugar & butter Roll out pie crust thin and put in 8" square dish; set aside. In medium saucepan mix fruit, water, butter, sugar. Bring to boil. Pour over crust. Fold crust over top. Sprinkle with sugar and dot with butter. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Add 1 teaspoon cinnamon or more for peaches. Add 2 tablespoons cornstarch with 1/2 cup water for cherries or other thin syrups. Add 1 tablespoon vinegar to 1/2 box raisins. |
