AMISH FRIENDSHIP APPLE BREAD | |
Mix together: 2/3 c. oil 3 eggs 2 c. flour 1 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powder Then add: 2 c. apples Pour into 2 greased loaf pans. Bake at 350°F for 50-55 minutes, until done. Get your Sour Dough Batter from a friend, or start your own. You can also obtain San Francisco Sourdough Starter in dehydrated form, much as you would purchased active dry yeast. Mix together in a bowl 1 teaspoon active dry yeast, 1/4 cup warm water, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1 tablespoon vinegar, 1 teaspoon salt and 1 cup all-purpose flour. Cover and let stand 2-3 days. It will become bubbly and will have a sour but pleasant odor, much like a pizza shop or bread bakery. Separate into 3 portions and give 2 of them away to friends. |
