OLD VIRGINIA SPOON BREAD | |
2 c. sweet milk 2 eggs, beaten 1 tbsp. lard 1 tbsp. butter 1 tsp. sugar 1 c. cornmeal 1 tbsp. flour, sifted 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. salt Combine and sift cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Stir in eggs and milk. Melt lard and butter in a baking dish and pour in batter. Cook 45 minutes in a 350 degree oven. |
