FRESH APPLE ROLL PIE
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. shortening
Self-rising flour
4-5 med. apples, peeled and sliced thin
Cinnamon to taste
Sugar to taste
1 c. water
1 c. sugar
1 stick butter

Mix 1/2 cup water with shortening. Add enough flour to make mixture biscuit-like. Roll dough thin. Place apples in center and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Roll dough around apples and place in a well-greased baking dish. Bake until brown in 350 degree oven. Mix 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar and butter. Bring to a boil, then pour mixture over browned dough. Let set 10 minutes and serve. Peaches or berries may be used instead of apples.
