FRUIT PRESERVE COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
2 c. flour
3/4 c. nuts (fine)
1 (10 oz.) jar jam (any kind)

Cream butter and sugar in large bowl. Add egg yolk and mix. Stir in flour; add nuts. Dough will be soft. Divide in half. Spread half in 9"x13" pan. Cover with jam. Drop remaining dough over jam. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes until golden brown. Makes about 25 squares.
