CHOCOLATE MAYONNAISE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
4-6 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. real mayonnaise
1 c. water

Sift dry ingredients together into mixing bowl. Blend a cup of REAL mayonnaise into dry ingredients. Stir in a cup of water. Beat batter until smooth (2-3 minutes on high speed). Bake at 350 degrees (grease and flour pans), 9 x 13 inch cake pan for 30-35 minutes; layer pans, 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting toothpick in middle - cake is done when it comes out clean.

CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 c. butter, room temperature
1 box powdered sugar
2 tsp. vanilla

Beat together with electric mixer. Great on the Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake!

The Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake was my grandmother's recipe - it's a very old recipe. My family loves this cake. It is especially good with the Cream Cheese Frosting. We hope you enjoy!
