2 sticks butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
2 1/2 c. oatmeal

Cream together butter and sugar. Mix together flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture. Add egg; mix well. Add oatmeal; mix again. Roll dough into small balls. Place on cookie sheet; flatten with a fork. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 12 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet; dust with powdered sugar. Makes 5 to 6 dozen.
