BOHEMIAN NUT ROLL | |
1 pkg. dry yeast 1 tsp. sugar 1/4 c. warm water 2 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 2 eggs, separated 1/2 c. sugar 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 c. nuts, cinnamon Sprinkle yeast in warm water; add 1 teaspoon sugar and let stand for 10 minutes. Cut butter into flour and salt. Blend in egg yolks and yeast mixture. Form dough into 2 balls. Roll each ball out into large rectangle between sheets of waxed paper. Beat egg whites until stiff - gradually add sugar and vanilla. Spread egg white mixture on each rectangle, sprinkle with nuts and cinnamon Roll up like jelly roll and place on greased cookie sheet, slit through top of roll lengthwise slightly. Bake at 375 degrees for 22 minutes. After removing from oven, dust with confectioners sugar. Slice when cool. |
