MOLASSES SUGAR COOKIES OR
GINGERSNAPS
 
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. light molasses
1 beaten egg
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. each of ginger, cloves and cinnamon

Cream shortening and sugar, add molasses and egg, beat well. Sift dry ingredients, add to creamed mixture, mix well again. Roll in small balls, roll in sugar, bake on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes. Makes 4 dozen.

Put mixture in the refrigerator to harden some before rolling into balls.
