1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. cider vinegar
1 egg
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 tbsp. mustard
salt and pepper to taste
cooked macaroni
hard-boiled eggs, chopped
shredded carrots
chopped celery
crumbled cooked bacon

Mix first 5 ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thick. Stir in mayonnaise, celery seed and salt and pepper. Pour over remaining ingredients and mix. Chill and serve.
