If you wish to avoid putting the dates they can be purchased pre-pitted. I prefer the ones with pits as they tend to maintain their moisture better. 12 Medjool dates 2 tbsp. Mascarpone or Ricotta Cheese 24-36 pieces Red Hots cinnamon candy Split the dates lengthwise and remove pits. Using a 1/2 teaspoon measuring spoon or baby food spoon spread Mascarpone or Ricotta cheese into the split date. Top with 2-3 Red Hots candies. Serve as an appetizer or a very simple dessert.
