ICE BOX PICKLES 
1 gallon sliced cucumbers
2 lg. onions, sliced
1 qt. white vinegar
1/4 c. canning salt
1 tsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. turmeric

Combine vinegar, salt, mustard seed, and turmeric in large kettle; bring to a boil. Simmer 8 minutes. Layer cucumbers and onions in jar or other container. Pour liquid over cucumber and onions. Allow to cool to room temperature. Store in refrigerator. Will keep for a year in refrigerator.
