STRAWBERRIES ROMANOFF 
2 qt. fresh strawberries
1 pt. vanilla ice cream, softened
1/2 pt. cream, whipped
Juice of 1 lemon
2 oz. Cointreau or Grand Marnier liqueur
Granulated sugar
1 oz. Bacardi rum
Mint leaves, optional

Put aside 5-6 strawberries for garnish. Sprinkle remaining strawberries with sugar and chill for at least 1 hour. Whip ice cream slightly and fold into whipped cream. Add lemon juice and rum and liqueur. Put strawberries into trifle bowl or large glass bowl and cover with whipped mixture, tossing lightly. Refrigerate for several hours. Garnish with whole strawberries and mint leaves before serving.
