BOURBON CAKE | |
1 pkg. yellow cake mix 1 c. chopped walnuts 7 oz. pkg. instant vanilla pudding 1/2 c. cold water 1/2 c. corn oil 4 eggs 1/2 c. fine bourbon Grease and flour a 12 inch bundt cake pan. Sprinkle nuts over bottom of cake pan. Thoroughly mix cake mix and other ingredients. Pour batter over nuts. Bake 1 hour in 325 degree oven. Cool. Prick top of cake with toothpick. GLAZE: 1/2 lb. butter 1/2 c. fine bourbon 1 c. granulated sugar 1/4 c. water Bring above ingredients to boil in small saucepan, stirring constantly. Cook for five minutes. Spoon over cake until all glaze is absorbed. Variation: Substitute chocolate cake mix and pudding, and pecans and dark rum. |
