PRETZELS WITH PERSONALITY
1 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. warm water
1 egg
1/4 c. honey
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1 c. milk
5 c. flour
Coarse salt

1. Measure 1/2 cup warm water into a bowl. Sprinkle yeast on water and stir until it dissolves.

2. Separate the egg yolk and white. Keep white in a small dish.

3. Mix egg yolk, honey, butter and milk into the yeast.

4. Add salt and enough flour to make stiff, easy to handle dough.

5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes, let it rise about 1 hour, then cut into strips about 1" wide. Fold each strip in half and roll it into a rope.

6. Shape the ropes into pretzels, peoples, pythons or anything...and place them on a cookie sheet.

7. Beat 1 tablespoon water into the egg white and brush it over the pretzels. Sprinkle each one with coarse salt.

8. Bake at 425 degrees until they are golden brown, about 15 to 20 minutes.
