THE BEST CHOCOLATE LAYER CAKE
EVER
 
2 1/4 c. unsifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. butter + 6 tbsp. cocoa (mixed together)
2 eggs
1 1/2 c. ice water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In small bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt; set aside. In large bowl combine butter, sugar and vanilla; beat until creamy. Blend in chocolate mixture. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Alternating, blend in flour mixture with ice water.

Pour into 2 greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Let cool for 10 minutes. Then frost.
