WINTERGREEN CAKE 
12 oz. pink wintergreen candy lozengers
1 1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 1/2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
4 eggs, separated
Red food coloring (opt.)

Dissolve the candy in the milk overnight. Separate the whites from the yolks. After cake batter is all mixed, add egg whites which have been beaten stiff. Fold in, do not beat. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until tests done.
