PEPPER STEAK | |
1 1/2 to 2 lbs. round steak, cut into bite size strips 2 tbsp. shortening 1 tbsp. flour 1/2 c. water 1 beef bouillon cube 3 tbsp. soy sauce 1 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 1 box fresh mushrooms 2 lg. peppers, cut into rings 2 med. onions, cut into rings 2 tomatoes, peeled and cut into 8th's Brown meat in shortening, remove. Blend flour into the shortening from which the meat was removed. Add water, bouillon cube, soy sauce, salt and pepper. Bring to boil, lower heat to simmer for 20 minutes. Drop meat into sauce and cook only until tender. Ten minutes before serving, add fresh mushrooms, cut up, pepper and onion rings and tomatoes. Cook until crisply tender. Serve on hot rice. |
