COCOA FUDGE CAKE 
1 3/4 c. flour
1 1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
6 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. shortening or Crisco
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
2 lg. eggs

Sift dry ingredients into a bowl. Add shortening, milk, and vanilla. Beat 2 minutes. Add eggs, beat 2 minutes. Bake in three 9-inch greased and floured pans at 350 degrees.

SUGGESTION FOR FROSTING: Use a cooked white filling and frost with a chocolate frosting.
