BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
4 qts. sliced cucumbers
1 1/2 c. onion, sliced
2 lg. garlic cloves
1/3 c. salt

Put all in an insulated cooler, add 2 trays of ice cubes and let stand 3 hours. Take garlic out.

3 (3 1/3 c.) white sugar
1 1/2 tsp. tumeric
1 1/2 tsp. celery seed
2 tsp. mustard seed
2 c. white vinegar

Heat to boiling, add cucumbers and onions. Cook 5 minutes. Process 5 minutes in water bath.
