SOURDOUGH BISCUITS 
1/2 c. enriched flour
1 c. starter
2/3 c. milk
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. enriched flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening

Measure 1/2 cup flour, starter, milk and sugar into mixing bowl (not metal); beat until smooth. Cover loosely with waxed paper and let stand in warm place (80-85 degrees) at least 18 hours. Stir batter down.

Stir together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Blend in starter mixture; add more flour if necessary to make a soft dough.
