HOLIDAY FRUIT GELATIN | |
4 whole spices of canned pineapple 2 whole bananas 4 whole canned pears 24 grapes 4 mandarin orange slices (or grapefruit) 12 maraschino cherries 4-5 pkgs. gelatin Prepare 3 packages of your favorite fruit gelatin. Place in refrigerator until gelatin begins to thicken. Pour gelatin into lightly oiled giant ring fruit mold and press fruit into the indicated areas. The bananas are to be cut in half (crosswise), making 4 pieces. Place in refrigerator until firm. Check to see that the fruit has remained in place and has not "floated up". Should the fruit shift, simply repress into proper position before gelatin becomes too firm. While the above mold is setting up in the refrigerator, mix in separate bowl, the additional 2 packages of gelatin and chill. Any desired fruit may be added to this. Finally, add this to the mold, making sure that the gelatin and fruit placed in the mold have become firm. Serves 18 or more. |
