Dried Apple Cake

This cake is good, but I wouldn't call it an "apple cake", I would call it a "molasses cake" instead. The molasses flavor is incredibly overpowering, it completely covers the apples, cinnamon, and nutmeg. I like the flavor of molasses, so that isn't too much of a problem for me, but I want to taste the apple.
