SPAGHETTI SAUCE | |
1/2 c. onion, chopped 2 tbsp. olive oil or salad oil 1 lb. ground beef 2 cloves garlic, minced 2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes (4 c.) can use fresh 2 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 (3 oz.) can broiled sliced mushrooms 1/4 c. chopped parsley 1 1/2 tsp. oregano 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. basil 1 bay leaf 1 c. water In large skillet cook onion in oil until almost tender. Add meat and garlic; brown lightly. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer uncovered 2 to 2 1/2 hours or until sauce is nice and thick; stir occasionally. |
