CHICKEN GUMBO SOUP 
1 sm. chicken
2 qt. water
3 tbsp. flour
1/2 sweet red pepper
1 1/2 okra, washed and sliced
1 lg. can tomatoes; mashed
1 can corn
1 tsp. chopped parsley
1 tsp. sugar

Cook chicken in water until tender; remove from water, bone and cut meat into small pieces. Brown flour in butter, add vegetables and chicken stock. Cook until vegetables are tender and gumbo is thick. Add chicken and sugar. Serve.
