OATMEAL CAKE 
CAKE:

1 1/4 c. boiling water
1/2 c. butter
1 c. white sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
1 c. quick oatmeal
1 1/2 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

ICING:

1/2 c. butter
1 sm. can evaporated milk
1 c. brown sugar

CAKE: Mix oatmeal and water and set aside until others are mixed. Cream butter and sugars, and the rest of the ingredients and the oatmeal. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.

ICING: Cream butter and brown sugar. Add milk. If sticky icing is desired, boil, otherwise mix.
