POPCORN BALLS | |
7 c. cooked popcorn 1 c. sugar 1/3 c. water 1/3 c. clear corn syrup 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. butter 1 tsp. vanilla Glass of cold water Double boiler Wooden spoon Popcorn in a BIG separate bowl. In a double boiler, put sugar, water, corn syrup, salt, butter, and vanilla; bring to boil. Watch carefully, stirring with the glass of cold water. You'll know it is ready when a ball forms from a drop of the mixture placed in the cold water. Now take the syrup mixture, pour over popcorn. First mix with wooden spoon (too hot). Take 1/4 cup of butter and rub on your hands to prevent sticking when making balls. Form the popcorn balls and place on waxed paper, let set. |
