BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
1 qt. sliced cucumbers, unpeeled
1 onion, sliced

Sprinkle 2 tablespoons salt over, cover with cold water. Put plate over this and let stand 3 hours. Drain 20 minutes.

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. white vinegar
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. mustard seed

Dump cucumbers in and mix together. Place in jar and refrigerate. Turn jar over every day. Ready to eat on the fourth day.
