SPICE OATMEAL DROPS 
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. uncooked rolled oats
1 c. raisins
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 c. milk

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. Sift together flour, baking soda, spices and salt. Add rolled oats, raisins and nuts. Mix well.

3. Mix together shortening, sugar and brown sugar until well blended. Add eggs and beat until fluffy.

4. Add dry ingredients to shortening-sugar mixture alternately with milk, beating after each addition.

5. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until done. Remove cookies and cool in wire racks. Makes about 3 dozen cookies.
