Use wooden spoon and heavy pan. Cook to 290 degrees, stirring constantly:

1 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. Karo
6 tbsp. water

1 c. almonds

Pour in buttered cookie sheet. Sprinkle with chocolate bits. When melted, spread over lightly.
