1/4 c. butter
1 1/4 c. boiling water
1 c. quick oats
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 well-beaten eggs
1 1/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix butter, boiling water and oats; let stand 20 minutes. Add sugars and eggs. Sift flour, salt, soda, and cinnamon. Add all ingredients together including vanilla. Bake 35 to 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

TOPPING:

6 tbsp. butter
About 1/4 c. water
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 c. pecans
1/4 c. coconut
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Combine and heat until boiling. Spread on top of baked cake and brown under broiler.
