2 c. Sugar Twin (brown sugar replacement)
1/2 c. cocoa
1/2 c. butter
1 c. thick milk
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1/2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour (unbleached)
1 egg
Pinch of salt

Mix sugar, flour, baking soda, cocoa, and salt together. Beat egg, add milk and to this add the soda, dissolved in about 1 tablespoon of hot water. Add vanilla and cream butter in. Add to dry ingredients and blend well. Put into oiled and floured cake tins. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
