ABERNETHY BISCUITS 
8 oz. (plus) flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 oz. butter
3 oz. castor sugar
1 tsp. caraway seeds
1 egg, beaten
Milk

Sift flour and baking powder in bowl. Rub in butter, then stir in sugar and caraway seeds. Mix with beaten egg and enough milk to make a stiff dough. Turn onto floured board. Roll out thinly. Cut into rounds; prick centers with fork. Bake on greased baking sheet in moderate oven (350 degrees), for 10 minutes.
