APRICOT SQUARE COOKIES 
3/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. nuts, finely chopped
1 1/2 c. coconut
1 lb. jar apricot jam

Mix butter and sugar. Add egg and vanilla, blend well. Add dry ingredients. Stir in nuts and coconut. Spread 2/3 mixture in 9 x 11 inch greased pan. Spread with jam. Then remaining mixture on top. Bake at 350 degrees until brown on top, 35 to 40 minutes. Cut into squares.
